1 year Maternal/Fetal Ultrasound Experience.
Education:
Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by American Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required.
BLS preferred.
Certifications & Licenses:
Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by American Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required.
BLS preferred Essential Functions Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians.
Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
Proficient in OB/GYN imaging and operating diagnostic ultrasound equipment including 3D/4D technology.
Ability to manage a physically/emotionally demanding work environment related to changing patient needs, including working with patients with fetal anomalies that are potentially incompatible with life.
Produce ultrasound images with all the required measurements; assist attending physicians with invasive procedures under ultrasound guidance Clean, stock and prepare room daily Explain ultrasound procedures to patients so they feel comfortable with the experience Serves as liaison between patient and physician when necessary Documents patient information in a timely and accurate manner to ensure continuity of high quality health care.
Calibrate, maintain ultrasound equipment Perform fetal surveys, and nuchal translucency scans per established standards and guidelines.
Evaluate the images for their quality, but also to interpret what was captured in the image.
Notify physician of any abnormalities or concerns immediately Chart ultrasound results using procedure guidelines and templates Represents clinic in a professional manner.
Treats all customers, internal and external in a courteous and cooperative manner.
See patients on time and re-schedule patients as necessary Clinical Care:
Ensure that quality patient care is delivered to all patients on a 24-hour basis, and the unit is maintained in accordance with professional and regulatory standards and the philosophy and goals of Hoag.
Perform other duties as assigned.
